With Autumn now in full swing, I thought I’d write a little post about my favourite parts and why it’s special to me.
I just love the changing of the seasons where the weather starts to get that bit colder and the colour of the leaves start to change. This is probably the time of year I actually go on the most walks because I love it so much – nothing beats wrapping up warm on a chilly day. I’m also very lucky that Sussex has some of the most beautiful places to visit.
Cinnamon buns, cinnamon candles, cinnamon bagels… give me all the cinnamon.
I feel the summer holds a lot of pressure to be outside and seeing people which is a joy in itself, but I do love a cozy night in with a movie and some popcorn. There’s nothing quite like putting some cozy socks on, grabbing a load of cushions and snuggling down for the evening. I always love to watch the movie You’ve Got Mail at this time of year as the story starts in Autumn and seems to go through all of the seasons of the year ending in Summer. It’s also just one of my favourite films.
Practical Magic is a film I watch every October as it contains everything I associate with Halloween. It’s one of my guilty pleasures and I won’t be sorry for it!
I kind of forget about candles in the summer but the minute Autumn hits and it gets a bit darker I can’t get enough of them. Autumnal scents are also some of my absolute favourites. This year I’ve picked up some gorgeous candles from TK Maxx that all have a soft pumpkin aroma.
Halloween is such an underrated holiday. You get lots of candy and to wear a silly costume if you wish – what’s not to love? Not sure what my plans are yet for this year, but I do know that Halloween is always fun.
I cannot even tell you how much I like pumpkin, so it’s always exciting when they start appearing in every day life, whether it be in food or just as decoration.
Autumn fashion has got to be my favourite. Not yet too cold, Autumn is perfect for the knitted jumper and a nice pair of boots. Tights are still doable and everything in the shops are the most gorgeous flattering colours. There’s just nothing more satisfying than a cozy jumper on a crisp Autumn day.
I don’t even care if you think they’re ‘basic’ – I love them.
It’s Closer to Christmas
Now, I’m not saying I’m out doing my Christmas shopping, but it’s just a nice feeling knowing it’s on the way. Sorry not sorry.
Thanks so much for reading, let me know what your favourite things about Autumn are in the comments!
